The Tolmin Museum is the central cultural and history institution in Tolmin, where archaeology, ethnology, and the history of the Upper Posočje region come together. The museum is located in the historic former manor of the Coronini family, located in the very center of the town of Tolmin. Museum offers visitors a rich collection of objects that tell stories from prehistory to the modern era.
The permanent exhibition Deposits of the History of the Soča Region, spread across several floors, provides insight into life in the Soča Valley through various archaeological and historical periods. The museum’s regularly organized temporary exhibitions reveal the fascinating local heritage of the Soča Valley. Did you know that here you can see a replica of the oldest musical instrument in the world, the Neanderthal flute more than 60.000 years old?
